 Boat on the Lake | Rent kayaks, canoes, or boats. Row or sail your boat to the various islands on Dillon Reservoir. We also enjoyed eating a picnic lunch where all the boats are docked. Take exit 201 or 203 off of I-70.

 St. Elmo (Ghost town) | Follow highway 24 south out of Buena Vista for 8 miles. Just after Nathrop take County Road 162 west for 16 miles up Chalk Creek Canyon. The road eventually turns to gravel but it takes you all the way to St. Elmo.
Many of the building's and surrounding areas are on private property so venturing off of public roads is traspassing. A guest house (bed and breakfast), general store, and a few restored buildings are can be explored. Kids can buy seeds as the general store to hand feed the chipmunks.

 Rocky Mountain National Park | Spectacular Scenery with elevations from 8,000 to 14,000 feet. Accessible via Estes Park a beautiful mountain town with a rich history, shops and restaurants. Vacationers and those planning family reunions can gather and stay at the YMCA of the Rocky Mountains, just outside of Estes Park. |

 Stanley Hotel | Visit or stay in the Hotel ($120) that inspired Stephen King to write the "The Shining. He stayed in room 217. In the wooded west lawn you will also find a pet cemetery said to have also been the inspiration for Stephen King's story "Pet Cemetery".
The hotel was built in 1909 in the neoclassical Georgian style, inspired by the resorts of the eastern seaboard.
