It was about a ship that was disguised as a giant sea monster. A schematic of the various rooms and corridors were laid out in the front and back of the book. The most remarkable feature was the very long and wavy slide the passengers could slide down inside the ship, all the way from the head to the tail of the giant sea monster ship. The passengers happily lived their lives aboard this great ship along with all the amenities they would ever desire. As an adult, I had often unsuccessfully tried to find that fascinating child's book.
Many years ago, I remember seeing the Grand Princess cruise ship on television, at the time, the largest passenger vessel in the world. I remember pondering about going on a cruise one day, maybe on that ship. But what would I ever do on a cruise ship? Wouldn't it be so boring and claustrophobic? In 2006, Rebecca Bowman invited me on fascinating voyage that would forever change the coarse of our lives. Rebecca was a talented professional singer, performing on cruise ships for 18 years. With an internet publishing company and the ability to work from anywhere, I ended up traveling the world with her for two adventurous and fun packed years. And believe it or not, we lived several month on that very ship I saw on my television screen all those years ago. With those years behind us, we continue to make time for our travel and food adventures, both overseas and here in the US. I finally proposed on a cruise ship off the coast of Australia. We wed the following year overlooking the Hong Kong skyline at dusk, which was certainly fitting for all the adventures we've had and will continue to have together... |
